In our first session, we'll discuss what’s bringing you in to therapy and what we want to achieve together. Your therapist will ask you some questions to get to know you better – your mental health history, family, past experiences with therapy, and any health issues you might have. If it fits, they might share a mental health diagnosis with you. We'll also talk about different ways we can work together to help you, and decide on the best plan for our therapy journey.

Cypress Mental Health does not accept insurance, and Drs. Westman and Lanser are not members of any insurance panels. We will provide you with a superbill, an itemized bill, which can be submitted to your insurance company, who might reimburse you for part or all of the session fee. Please call your insurance company prior to scheduling the first visit to determine what your reimbursement rate is for out-of-network providers. We have partnered with Reimbursify to help you determine an initial estimate.
-
We use SimplePractice to manage our billing. Services are paid in full at the end of each session via credit/debit card, cash, or check.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services. If you are not planning to use insurance to cover any part of your treatment, make sure your health care provider gives you a Good Faith Estimate in writing at least 1 business day before your medical service or item. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate. For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.
